In December 2004, the Ottawa County Michigan Works! Agency solicited proposals from organizations to provide Job Preparation workshops for the two Ottawa County Michigan Works! Service Centers. The audience of the Job Preparation workshops include the general public and participants from the various programs offered by Michigan Works!, including dislocated workers and recipients of public assistance who are seeking services for obtaining and maintaining employment.
Since February 2005, Bobbie has taught the Job Search & Networking Workshop weekly in Holland and monthly in Grand Haven.
Her enthusiasm, personal experience, and undivided attention given to the workshop participants has been so well received that in July, Michigan Works extended the workshop by one hour because so many of the workshop evaluations suggested the workshop be extended. Feedback from the participants continues to be positive. Participants comment on how much they have learned about networking and how to make the right choices when it comes to assessing their career choices. The participants appreciate the fact that the instructors treat them with respect and as a result the participants are more fully engaged in the workshop.

I didn't know quite what to expect coming to see her. I was very nervous with even the thought of changing jobs. My first impression of Bobbie was that this was a warm, friendly lady. Then we got talking and I truly felt she new what she was doing.
