For nearly 10 years Changing Directions has helped people meet career goals through career facilitation and guidance, including respectful and dignified employment transitions for individuals suffering from job loss. After being right-sized, down-sized, position eliminated, company closed, fired, left jobs on my own for supposed green pastures, worked as a temporary employee, took jobs not well-suited for me, and too often found myself alone playing a game to which I didn’t know the rules.
Nobody should go through job searching alone and unequipped like I did, so I decided to do something about it and became “the expert.” It turns out that employers are playing Monopoly ® and the rest of us are playing Life ®. They are both good games, but the rules are very different. Successful job seekers need to know the rules of the correct game.
I received my certificate as a Global Career Development Facilitator from the Center for Credentialing and Education, Inc. an affiliate of the National Board for Certified Counselors, Inc. Then I launched Changing Directions and have since helped countless people successfully transition into new jobs and careers as well as helping employers transition employees they need to let go.
